The August rehearsals are mandatory and are crucial for setting a strong foundation for the year.

Students should bring their instrument and all of their music to every rehearsal. Students should also put their music in sheet protectors in a 2-inch (at least) binder to keep everything neat and organized.

In addition to their individual practice, the students must also get together with the rest of the section (i.e. Saxes, Brass, Rhythm Section) three times or more over the summer. For at least one of the sectionals, please contact Mr. Lehman and he will attend to help out.

It is also expected that ALL Jazz 1 students take private lessons. Just ask Mr. Lehman if you need any recommendations for teachers.
