Jazz
Edison's jazz program includes three jazz bands. Students interested in participating in a jazz band audition in May for the next school year. All three jazz bands rehearse before or after school a minimum of three days per week.
JAZZ BAND 1 is the premier jazz band at Edison.
JAZZ BAND 2 is an intermediate level jazz band that participates in festivals and competitions throughout Illinois.
JAZZ BAND 3 is a beginning level jazz band that participates in several concerts and performances each year.
Every year, the Edison Band Patrons host one major jazz event, Java and Jazz. All three jazz bands perform at this gala event that serves as a fundraiser for the jazz program.
The success of the Edison Middle School Band Program is a result of the dedication and hard work of the students, directors, school and district administrators, parents, teachers, patrons and community members.
Everyone realizes the importance of music and music education in the development of young people.
