The Edison Band Patrons By-Laws.

Some of the Expenses which the Band Patrons must cover for the Concert Bands this year include:

• Band Competition Fees & awards of $1,600.00
• Instrument Repair & Maintenance of $1,600.00
• Instruments, Insurance and Music of $3,720.00

The Edison Band Patrons is currently in the process of becoming a recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. We are currently a registered not-for-profit corporation, but not 501(c)(3) recognized. Obtaining this recognition from the IRS will give us many advantages in being able to accept donations from individuals in which they can deduct the contribution as a charitable donation. Additionally there are a number of organizations and foundations offering grants for music programs that are only offered to 501(c)(3) organizations. Once we have this recognition, we will seek out some of this grant money for new instruments and/or other needs which the Band Patrons can not currently due to limitations in resources.

The Edison Band Patrons Fiscal Year runs from August 1st to July 31st and we use an Accrual Basis of accounting.
